Haia Auweloa

Haia Auweloa’s story is deeply rooted in the rich paniolo heritage of Hawai’i. Born and raised on Maui, Haia comes from a long line of Hawaiian cowboys, going back over 4 generations.

Haia has a long history of ranching and heavy equipment operating at some of Hawaii's largest outfits, including Kaonoulu Ranch, Ponoholo Ranch, SC Ranch, Puu’huluhulu Ranch, and Parker Ranch. He also managed the Kohala Watershed Partnership fence crew. Now on the West Side of Maui, Haia runs his own expanding cattle operation.

Haia now dedicates his life to helping his community build a sustainable future while sharing his knowledge of God’s glory, supported by his ohana.

Director

Maddy Corbat

Maddy Corbat grew up on a cattle farm in Washington state, where a passion for agriculture, rodeo and horsemanship took root. She spent years in 4-H showing cattle, sheep, and horses, as well as competing in junior and high school rodeo, high school equestrian team, AQHA horse shows, and jackpot barrel races. After working for five years as an assistant to a reining horse trainer, Maddy stepped away from rodeo and agriculture to focus on her nursing degree. She moved to Maui after meeting her now- husband, who was born and raised here. He introduced her to the island’s paniolo lifestyle and rodeo community, deepening her appreciation for Hawaii’s rich ranching heritage. Grateful for the immense joy, opportunities and life skills her upbringing gave her, Maddy is dedicated to giving back to the rodeo community by promoting rodeo events and helping young riders develop their skills, confidence and love for the sport.
